The proper terminology used, in Islam, for God is “Allah.”
There are a number of reasons for having a special word for God. First of all,
the term “Allah” means, in Arabic, the one and only universal God or Creator
and Provider of the universe. Notice here I am emphasizing “the one and only.”
So a Muslim would not simply say, “There is one God.” That would not be as
accurate or as strong an expression as saying ‘the one and only God’. (Read

The main point to be emphasized here is that, unfortunately
many of the writings that are found in various libraries in the West, which are
not written from a Muslim standpoint or how Muslims understand Islam, depict
Allah as if He is some type of a tribal Arabian God or even the ‘God of
Muslims’. For example, they’d say Mohammed worshiped his Allah. Or Muslims
worship Allah. Even if they use the term Allah they put it in such a way that
leaves the reader or audience with the impression that maybe it is not exactly
the same God.Miracle of Allah and Final Testament to Humankind
“The Quran: literally, ‘that which is often recited.’ A web
of rhythm and meaning, the words of which throb through Muslim worship and
which, at every point in the believer’s life , break surface, sanctifying
existence with the scent of eternity.” [Abdul Wadod Shalabi in “Islam – Religion of
Life”]
The Quran represents the fountainhead of Divine guidance for
every Muslim. Its revelation to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and
his practical implementation of the revelation, completed God’s blessing for
humanity, in providing us with a belief and value system that is valid for all
times.
The Quran confirms the revelations given to earlier
Prophets, though these might not be accessible to us, in the form they were
originally revealed. The most sublime language and a rational message that
directly appeals to the human heart have caused this Divine book to move
nations and civilizations. It will continue to guide those who turn to God with
a sincere heart, for all times.

Fourteen hundred years ago, God sent Angel Gabriel to reveal
the religion of Islam to Muhammad (peace be upon him). God transformed him from
an ordinary man to the last of the Prophets. He was given the responsibility of
guiding humanity to righteousness and the worship of One God alone.
Muhammad (pbuh) advised his fellow Arabs in Mecca to cease
their worship of idols and to affirm the Oneness of God. He warned them of an
afterlife where they will be held accountable for the evils they committed such
as paganism, promiscuity, and petty tribalism. He also gave glad tidings of
paradise to those who obey God and His Prophet and lead socially conscientious
lives.
